Deni Rod Run '09
The run wasn't heavily advertised, just mainly through word of mouth and invites to friends of club members (By invites, I of course mean we told them they were expected to be there or else....) so we had just under 30 entrants. Anyway it was pretty standard format for the weekend, rego and sausage sizzle on the Friday night, Cruise and lunch Saturday with dinner at night and finishing with a show 'n' shine on the Sunday.
Here's some pics from Friday night, not too many from this as I was busy with the rest of the guys feeding everyone, and setting fires up 'cause it was pretty damn cold.

Saturday morning we had late registration for those people who couldn't get away Friday night, as well as most of the guys from the club in Echuca turning up too. The order of the day was shop tours around the town. Starting with H.A.S Custom metal works (http://www.hascustommetalworks.com.au/home.php) who specialise in WWII fighter plane repro panels and prototyping. After having a look through there we headed over to Northside Restorations to see what was on the boil in Chris' shop. At Northside they do anything from rust repairs to full on restorations of classics and rods, there was even a tractor in there getting a full rebuild whilst we where there!

Next up was a roughly 30k Drive out to the Conargo pub for a cool drink and look through a collection of old machinery and tools. On the way back to Deni we stopped in at Clancy of Conargos Winery for lunch, and some wine tasting of course for those of us not driving!

Doesn't every workshop have one of these sitting outside? Very solid body this one

If you read aussie Street Machine mag you might recognise the above car

"I'll have one of each thanks"

So after the tour/cruise wrapped up, it was a free afternoon. Running at the same time as our run was the Deniliquin Collectors Club spring rally, which is all about old machinery, collectables, displays etc. which gave the entrants plenty to do and look at in the arvo.
Dinner was held at the Deniliquin golf club, which I don't have any photo's of as I was to busy having a good time.
Sunday Morning started with the Show 'n' Shine at about 10 in the morning. This was open to non run entrants too and we had about 89 cars on the day, of all types.

Even the Stig was on hand to greet fans and present trophies!

Allright guys, that about wraps it up, was a great weekend and I hope everyone who came along had a good time. I certainly did!
Cheers.
